Yet another year coming to a close. It has been an eventful and exciting year for Lakeshore Group as a couple of our own were selected to be 2 of 5 finalists for the Ric New Rising Star award, one of our hand-picked contractors took out the Ric New Medal, and as a company we took on more developments and also completed an award-winning renovation project.

2 of our employees, Bonnie Wheeler and Matthew Webster, were each 1 of 5 Finalists for the Ric New Rising Star award which was part of the MBA WA Apprentice of the Year Awards 2017. This award is for the recognition of outstanding potential, work ethic and commitment of a young person (up to 25 years of age) in the context of their current and future contribution to the building and construction industry in Western Australia.

At the same awards presentation, our main bricklaying partner, Tim March from Beyond Bricklaying, won the Ric New Medal award.

On the topic of awards, Master Builders Association WA (MBA WA) awarded Lakeshore Group with the Best Refurbishment or Renovation under $5 Million for the Kidsafe office building located in West Leederville. This was presented at the 2017 Master Builders-Bankwest Excellence in Construction Awards night held by MBA WA. Lakeshore supervisors and internal office staff worked closely with our contractors and suppliers to overcome a number of obstacles that we faced. These included very limited access, which meant trades had to be scheduled strategically as multiple trades couldn’t work on site due to there not being enough space for all their equipment and machinery.

This achievement is reflective of the pride Lakeshore Group takes in making sure only the best contractors are selected to work on our projects and that all sites are supervised by highly experienced managers who demonstrate a meticulous attention to detail, to ensure that the finished product (be it a client’s dream home, or an investor’s commercial property) is beyond exceptional.

Some of the larger developments that we took on in 2017 include a 6 x single storey unit complex in Balga, 3 x two storey town houses in Stirling and an 11-apartment complex in Wandi. The Balga development was successfully completed on time and on budget in July 2017, while the Wandi complex is due to reach lockup before Christmas – right on schedule.

We are extremely pleased with all the hard work and commitment all our employees, trades and suppliers have put into each project. We look forward to another successful year in 2018!
